Course Overview
Our Paramedic-led First Aid for Parents, Grandparents and Baby Sitters course is designed specifically to equip Parents, Grandparents, Childminders, and Carers with essential life-saving skills. Children are among the most vulnerable members of our society, and being prepared to handle emergencies involving them is essential.
Our qualified paramedic instructors deliver this course in an engaging, hands-on way, using a mix of:
- PowerPoint presentations
- Instructional videos
- Practical exercises
We also offer flexible scheduling, including midweek, evenings, and weekends to best suit your needs.
Course Duration
This course lasts 3.5 hours, with assessments including:
- Practical demonstrations of skills
- A multiple choice answer written examination
There will also be ample time to allow for further questions & answers prior to course conclusion.

- CPR – Infant, Child
- Common Medical and Traumatic Paediatric Emergencies, such as: Febrile Convulsions, Shock, Meningitis, Croup vs. Epiglottitis, Minor Wounds, Bumps & Bruises, Nose bleeds, Fainting, Burns, Poisoning & Poison Preventions.
Certification and Additional Materials
Upon successful completion of this course, participants will receive an O'Hanlon Health and Safety 'Paediatric First Aid' certificate valid for 2 years. Additionally, each participant will receive:
- A comprehensive 56 page Paediatric First Aid Manual
- A RED Card (Request Emergency Dispatch Card) to assist in emergency situations
