Cardiovascular disease claims approximately 10,000 lives annually in Ireland, with an estimated 5,000 deaths attributed to sudden cardiac arrest. Early CPR and defibrillation within the first 3–5 minutes of collapse, combined with early advanced care, significantly increases long-term survival rates for witnessed cardiac arrests—often exceeding 50%.
By enrolling in our CFR course, you will learn from highly experienced professionals who have successfully saved lives in critical situations. Our instructors bring a wealth of knowledge and frontline experience, having worked in various settings such as the National Ambulance Service.
What You Will Learn:
Participants will acquire the following essential skills:
- Adult and Child CPR techniques
- Understanding the Chain of Survival
- Proper use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- Managing Adult and Child Foreign Body Airway Obstruction (Choking)
- Steps to recognize and respond to a stroke using the FAST assessment
- Basic understanding of emergency medication use
- How to use barrier devices effectively
- Demonstration of the recovery position for unresponsive patients
Course Duration:
The course will take approximately 3.5 hours, depending on class size.
Certification & Materials Provided:
There are no prerequisites to enroll in the CFR Course. Upon completion, participants will receive:
- A Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) certificate
- A CPR Pocket Mask
- A Cardiac First Response Community (CFR-C) Handbook
- A Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) Red Card
